Planning Office

Fergus County currently has two planning boards. The first being the County Planning Board with five members that meets the second Thursday of each month if there is business to act on.  The second board is the City-County Planning board, consisting of nine members, who have jurisdiction for the 4.5 mile area of Fergus County and the City of Lewistown. This board meets the third Thursday of the month as necessary.

The Road Book
The Planning Office sells what is known as “The Road Book.”  This book has the county divided up by a township on each page and identifies land owners and roads.  The latest edition also has alphabetical indexes for road names and landowners. 

These books are updated each time we order them with the latest Fergus County Road information and landownership information obtained from the State of Montana at a cost of $50.00 each, cash or check only. These are available at the Planning Office, the Clerk & Recorder's Office and the Superintendent of Schools Office.
